My name is Ramesh Khade, and I was born in Ambernath, a holy place dedicated to Lord Shiva, near Mumbai in Thane district. Ambernath is famous for its historical Shiv Mandir, a revered temple where people gather every Monday, especially from nearby cities, to experience the serenity of this spiritual haven. As a child, I would often visit the temple with my family, drawn to the peaceful atmosphere. My cheerful, smiling nature made me a favorite among family members, though my habit of laughing often stirred mixed reactions—some people enjoyed it, while others found it annoying.
Growing up, I was deeply moved by the plight of those in pain or living in poverty. It broke my heart to see people begging, and I felt a strong urge to make a difference. After finishing my secondary education, however, I still felt something was missing in my life. During college, I believed that money was the answer to everything, so I took up part-time jobs. But as I started earning, I realized that while I could provide for basic needs like food, clothing, and shelter, true change required something deeper—something beyond material comforts.
One day, a friend and I visited a spiritual exhibition near our community, and I was captivated by the knowledge shared there. What struck me the most was the power of meditation, and I began to explore its practice. Slowly, I adopted the principles of the Brahmakumaris, which included pure food, regular meditation, and a dedication to social service. These practices brought me immense happiness and a newfound sense of purpose, inspiring me to join the Brahmakumaris Mission to contribute to the transformation of society.
For the past 28 years, I have been a dedicated volunteer with the Brahmakumaris, sharing their vision of personal and collective transformation. One of their initiatives, Radio Madhuban 90.4 FM, became a natural extension of my mission. Since 2011, I have served as a Radio Jockey on this platform, where I connect with the community and work towards inspiring positive change. My greatest dream is to help bring joy and transformation to people’s lives, and through this work, I feel deeply fulfilled and aligned with my purpose.
